Shriram Finance to Double in 3.5 Years
Shriram Finance, a big finance company in India, has teamed up with a Japanese bank called MUFG.
This partnership will bring in a lot of money (Rs 40,000 crore) to help Shriram Finance grow faster.
The company's boss, Umesh Revankar, says they will double in size in just three and a half years.
They plan to open more branches and focus on areas where banks don't usually go.
MUFG will help with technology and managing risks, while Shriram Finance will keep doing what it does best: lending money to small businesses and individuals.
They won't turn into a bank but will keep growing their current business.
Shriram Finance expects to double its assets under management (AUM) in 3.5 years with MUFG's strategic partnership.
The partnership will infuse Rs 40,000 crore ($4.4 billion) to strengthen capital buffers and lower borrowing costs.
Shriram Finance has revised its growth plan, aiming for an 18–20% annual growth rate, up from the previous 15%.
The company plans to expand its presence by converting 600 rural centers into branches and opening 100–150 new branches annually.
MUFG's global expertise in digital capabilities and risk management will complement Shriram Finance's domestic operations.
