Gallops Licence Suspended After Mumbai Food Safety Inspection

Gallops Licence Suspended After Mumbai Food Safety Inspection

Food inspectors checked Gallops restaurant in Mumbai.

They said the restaurant had several cleanliness and food-storage problems.

Ice in a refrigerator had blood and ketchup stains from non-vegetarian food.

Some food ingredients were kept in torn or damaged packages.

Inspectors also found grease, old walls, insects and standing water.

The restaurant did not have enough health-check and vaccination records for its workers.

Because of these findings, the food authority suspended its licence immediately.

Gallops cannot use that licence for food operations until the requirements are addressed and permission is given to resume.

The restaurant has operated at the Mahalaxmi Racecourse since 1986.
