Delhi Court Sentences Man to 3 Years for Exam Cheating
A man named Pappu Kumar was caught cheating in a job exam in 2013.
He had someone else take the test for him.
The University Grants Commission (UGC) found out when the new workers didn't do well.
They checked the signatures and fingerprints and found they didn't match.
The court said Kumar knew what he did was wrong but still tried to fight the case.
He was sent to jail for 3 years.
Pappu Kumar was sentenced to 3 years in jail for cheating in a 2013 UGC clerk recruitment exam.
He was convicted under IPC Sections 120B (criminal conspiracy), 419 (cheating by personation), 420 (cheating), and 471 (using forged documents as genuine).
The UGC noticed irregularities after some newly recruited clerks performed poorly in an internal typing test.
Forensic verification revealed that Kumar's signatures and thumb impressions did not match those on the examination attendance sheets.
The UGC terminated Kumar's services in July 2015 and referred the matter to the CBI, which filed a chargesheet in 2019.
