Former Thai MP arrested after shooting local political leader inside government office · wionews.com

In Thailand, a place called Nonthaburi is in the news because a former member of parliament named Chalong shot a local leader named Thongchai.

Thongchai was the head of the local government in Nonthaburi.

Sadly, Thongchai was hurt very badly and died at the hospital.

Thongchai's driver was also shot, but he had surgery and is doing better.

Chalong said he was angry because Thongchai would not help him with something and pushed him.

He also said the driver pointed a gun at him first, so he shot.

Right after the shooting, Chalong called a woman on YouTube who talks about news, and told her and her viewers what he had done.

The police arrested Chalong, and he said sorry to Thongchai's family.

The reports don't agree on how old the men are — one says Chalong is 71 and another says Thongchai is 71.

This happened only days after a teenager shot his grandparents and opened fire at a school in the same area, killing seven people.
