Raja Subramani Opens Sailor Housing at Karwar Naval Base

General N.S. Raja Subramani opened new homes at the Indian Navy’s base in Karwar.

The homes are for senior sailors, Navy civilian workers and Defence Security Corps personnel.

The site also has a kindergarten school and other facilities.

The new buildings are part of a larger project to expand the naval base.

That project includes plans for facilities for ships, submarines and aircraft.

The construction used more than 90 percent materials and equipment sourced in India, according to the statement.

The expanded base is expected to support local jobs and economic activity.

Separately, Vice Admiral Sanjay Vatsayan discussed maritime security and future military operations with student officers.
