UP madrassa students shift after SC ruling
A long time ago, the Supreme Court, which is like the highest judge in India, said that madrassas in Uttar Pradesh cannot give out special degrees called Kamil and Fazil.
These degrees are like college degrees, but the court said only universities can give them.
Now, about 32,000 students who were studying for these degrees are not sure what to do.
Some students, like Saqlain Raza, are planning to join regular universities to continue their studies.
Others, like Mohammad Saad Nizami, feel stuck and might have to stop studying if they can't find a solution.
The government is trying to figure out what to do, and some people are asking the court to let madrassa students join a special university.
But others think the students should start fresh at the university.
It's a big change for these students, and they hope everything will work out.
Supreme Court ruled that Uttar Pradesh madrassa board cannot award Kamil and Fazil degrees, deeming it unconstitutional.
Around 32,000 students enrolled in these courses are exploring new academic options.
Some students, like Saqlain Raza, are planning to join universities for BA and MA degrees.
Others, like Mohammad Saad Nizami, feel trapped and may have to abandon their studies if no solution is found.
The government is examining legal aspects for a solution, and a petition is pending in the Supreme Court for affiliation with Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Language University.
