Odisha to Revise Voter Rolls; Polling Booths to Increase
Odisha is updating its voter list.
This is a big process to make sure everyone who can vote is on the list, and that the information is correct.
It's been 24 years since the last major check of the voter list in the state.
The election officials will be checking and updating all the information, and the final list will be ready in 2026.
Also, they are adding more voting places to make it easier for people to vote.
The Election Commission is responding to queries from political parties, and reminded people that you need a valid voter ID card to vote, and not just the EPIC number.
Odisha will conduct a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
The SIR aims to ensure an accurate and inclusive voter list.
The final electoral roll will be published on January 7, 2026.
Polling booths will increase from 38,000 to 45,000.
