NMC Simplifies MBBS Seat Recognition Process
The National Medical Commission (NMC) in India has made it easier for medical colleges to get approval for their MBBS seats.
Before, colleges had to submit separate applications and pay extra fees to get their seats recognized.
Now, they just need to submit an Annual Disclosure Report (ADR) and pay a fee once a year.
This report will automatically recognize their seats for that academic year.
The NMC has also asked all medical colleges to upload the admission details for the 2025-26 academic year by January 15, 2025.
This change is meant to make things simpler for colleges while ensuring they meet all the necessary standards.
NMC has discontinued the separate recognition process for MBBS seats, simplifying the regulatory procedure.
Medical colleges now only need to submit an Annual Disclosure Report (ADR) and pay the applicable fee for seat recognition.
Annual permission or renewal of seats will automatically be considered as recognition for that academic year.
Medical colleges with annually permitted or renewed seats will be regarded as accredited institutions for that course and year.
NMC has directed all medical colleges to upload admission details for the 2025-26 academic year by January 15, 2025.
