Delhi Man Loses Rs 9 Lakh to Cyber Fraudsters Posing as Anti-Terror Officials

Imagine someone calls you pretending to be a police officer.

They might say you're in trouble for something serious, like helping terrorists, and that you need to give them money to prove you're innocent or to pay for a fake court fee.

This is what happened to a man in Delhi.

He got calls from people who said they were government officials and accused him of being linked to the Pulwama attack.

They said money was put in his name in Kashmir and that he was under investigation.

They told him not to tell anyone and asked him to transfer a lot of money, nearly 9 lakh rupees, to an account they said was linked to the Reserve Bank of India.

They even pretended to be an Anti-Terrorism Squad chief.

When he gave them the money, they asked for more, but then they hung up and disappeared.

The man realized he had been tricked and was very upset.
