Supreme Court declines former mayor's plea against Ghaziabad police raid

Former Delhi Mayor Farhad Suri asked the Supreme Court to order a police case against Ghaziabad police officers.

He said officers entered or raided his Delhi home without a warrant.

The officers were reportedly looking for YouTuber Abhishek Upadhyay in a road rage case.

Suri’s lawyer said many officers arrived late at night in several vehicles.

The Supreme Court did not take up the request.

It said Suri could first approach the appropriate Delhi police station.

The court also refused to create new rules for police searches across state borders.

The case was heard by a three-judge bench led by Chief Justice Surya Kant.
