Gurugram SHO Suspended Over Cremation of Murdered Realtor's Body

Yuvraj Singh Manchanda was found dead on September 10.

Police treated his body as unidentified and cremated it before his family had a chance to identify him.

The police had not put details about the body into ZipNet, a database used to share information about unidentified people and missing persons.

Yuvraj's sister took the matter to the Supreme Court.

The Court asked the police commissioners of Delhi and Gurugram to provide personal affidavits.

Gurugram Police suspended the local station house officer and had already suspended the investigating officer.

Disciplinary action may also be taken against other personnel.

Police have introduced new rules for monitoring cases involving unidentified bodies.
