Indian Markets Open Higher Amid Oil Drop and Iran Talks
The Indian stock market is expected to start the week on a high note.
The Gift Nifty, a special index, was trading higher than usual, which usually means the main market will open higher too.
Oil prices fell after the U.S. president said a planned strike on Iran was paused, making investors feel better.
Gold also went up a little because people think the price of oil might stay lower.
Traders are waiting for the Reserve Bank of India to decide on interest rates next week, which could change how the market moves.
Indian benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty 50 are expected to open higher on Monday, Aug 3, following a gap‑up in Gift Nifty.
The Gift Nifty was trading around 24,590, about 137 points above the previous close of Nifty futures.
Crude oil prices fell sharply after President Donald Trump announced a pause in a planned strike on Iran, boosting market optimism.
Gold prices edged up to about $4,070 an ounce as hopes of a diplomatic breakthrough eased inflationary pressure.
Investors are watching the Reserve Bank of India’s Monetary Policy Committee decision on Wednesday for clues on future interest‑rate policy.
