High Court halts Sujan Singh Park takeover until plea decided

There is a very old hotel and apartment area in Delhi called Sujan Singh Park, which includes the Ambassador Hotel.

A company called Sir Sobha Singh and Sons built this place many years ago.

Long ago, in 1960, the government and the company started arguing about who really owns the land.

The government said the company had broken the rules, but the company said it had followed them.

A court said the company was fine in 2009, but another court changed that decision this year.

Then the government tried to take the property back.

The two sides have been arguing for almost 70 years, which is a very, very long time.

A big court in Delhi, called the Delhi High Court, has now said: everyone should stay exactly where they are for now.

This means nothing will change until the judges can make a final decision.

This protects the people who live and work there while the argument continues.
