Udupi Police Award Certificates for Firearm and Cyber Safety Training
Imagine the police in Udupi want to help people learn how to be safe with guns and on the internet.
They held a special training camp for 200 people who want to get a gun license.
This camp taught them how to use and store guns safely.
It's like getting a special permit to practice a sport safely.
The police also recently did a fun online campaign to teach everyone about staying safe from computer tricks and scams.
They gave awards to people who won drawing and video contests about this.
The police chief said they want everyone to be safe, both with guns and online.
This helps make Udupi a safer place for everyone.
Udupi District Police distributed certificates to 200 civilians who completed a mandatory 20-day firearm training.
The training is a prerequisite for obtaining firearm licenses in Karnataka under the Arms Act, 1959.
The initiative aims to ensure responsible firearm handling for self-defense, sport, and crop protection.
This follows a similar training in September 2025 where 195 civilians received certificates.
