Mumbai Court Rejects Daughter's Property Claim
A daughter in Mumbai tried to claim a share in a flat and a plot of land that her grandfather had given to her father.
The court said no, because as long as her father is alive, she doesn't have any right to that property.
The court also said that the case about the plot can't be decided without all the other people who should inherit from the grandfather.
So, the daughter didn't win her case.
A Mumbai court ruled that a daughter has no legal right to claim a share in a property allotted to her father by her grandfather while the father is alive.
The suit was filed by Ingrid D’Souza against the builder, her father, and her sister, seeking a share in a flat and an open plot.
The court dismissed the claim for the flat, stating that the daughter has no right to it as long as her father is alive.
The court could not decide on the open plot due to the absence of other legal heirs.
The father and sister did not appear in court, and the builder contested the suit.
