Centre Directs Action on Unrecognized Schools in Jharkhand, Bihar
The government is telling the states of Jharkhand and Bihar to deal with schools that aren't officially recognized.
These schools are operating without the proper permission from the government.
To be recognized, schools need to follow certain rules, like having the right facilities and qualified teachers.
The government is concerned because many schools in these states haven't been approved.
According to the Right to Education Act, these schools have to get recognized or face penalties, including fines and closure.
The government wants the states to take action to either help these schools meet the requirements or shut them down.
The Ministry of Education (MoE) addressed the issue of unrecognised schools in Jharkhand and Bihar.
The discussion took place during the Project Approval Board (PAB) meetings in March and April.
Jharkhand has the highest number of unrecognised schools in India.
The Right to Education (RTE) Act mandates schools meet specific norms.
The MoE urged both states to take action on these schools.
