Ethiopia Accuses Eritrea of Arming Rebels
Ethiopia and Eritrea, two countries that used to fight a lot, made peace in 2018.
But now they are arguing again.
Ethiopia says Eritrea is giving weapons to rebels in a part of Ethiopia called Amhara.
Eritrea says this is not true and that Ethiopia is looking for a reason to start a war.
Both countries say they don't want war, but they are making threats.
They fought a big war before from 1998 to 2001.
They also fought together in another war in Ethiopia from 2020 to 2022.
Now, Ethiopia wants access to the sea, which Eritrea has, and this is making Eritrea nervous.
Ethiopian police seized 56,000 rounds of ammunition allegedly sent by Eritrea to rebels in the Amhara region.
Eritrea dismissed the allegations as false and accused Ethiopia of seeking a pretext for war.
Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki stated that Ethiopia's Prosperity Party had declared war on Eritrea.
Ethiopia and Eritrea fought a border war from 1998 to 2001 and signed a peace deal in 2018.
Relations soured after Eritrea was excluded from a peace deal that ended Ethiopia's civil war in Tigray.
