Swedish Court Won't Deport Rapist Due to Incident's Duration
In Sweden, Yazied Mohamed, a refugee, was convicted of raping a 16-year-old girl and received a prison sentence.
The court, however, decided not to deport him.
The court's reason was that the rape 'did not last long enough' to be considered exceptionally serious, which is the legal threshold for deportation.
The incident occurred in a pedestrian tunnel in Skellefteå, after the victim missed her bus.
This decision has sparked debate because the victim was reported saying that "I hate him and that he has destroyed me".
