Himachal Student Dies After Alleged Harassment
A 19-year-old college student in Himachal Pradesh died after being sexually harassed by a professor and ragged by three female students.
The student recorded a video before she died, detailing her ordeal.
Her family filed a complaint with the police and the chief minister's helpline, but they did not respond immediately.
The police have now filed a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Himachal Pradesh Educational Institutions (Prohibition of Ragging) Act, 2009.
The professor denies the allegations, stating that he only advised the student on academic matters.
The college administration has distanced itself from the case, stating that the student had not filed any complaint with them earlier.
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has formed a committee to investigate the incident and assured that the culprits will not be spared.
