Tea Prices Rise at Coonoor Auctions Due to Packeteer Demand
Imagine a big sale where people buy tea.
This week, more buyers who put tea into packages and mix teas were interested in buying.
This extra interest made the prices go up a little bit, about 3 to 4 rupees for every kilogram of tea.
Not as much tea was available at this sale, which also helped the prices rise.
Different types of tea, like the leaf kind and the dust kind, all saw their prices go up, especially the better quality ones.
Some special teas even sold for more money.
Overall, it was a good sale for tea sellers in Coonoor.
Packeteers and blenders increased demand, driving up tea prices at Coonoor auctions.
Prices for tea rose by ₹3-4 per kg due to better demand and lower offering volume.
Leaf grades saw a 97% sale percentage, while dust grades achieved 87%.
High-priced teas and better liquoring sorts saw significant price increases.
Both CTC and orthodox teas experienced varying degrees of price appreciation, with some grades seeing slight decreases.
