India Completes Life Certificate Camps for Pensioners in Canada
Every year, India helps pensioners living in Canada confirm they are still alive so they can keep getting their pensions.
In November 2025, they held special camps in many cities.
Some places had protests, but the camps went smoothly with police around to keep everyone safe.
Nearly 100 people in Vancouver got their certificates, and some who couldn't travel were helped through video calls.
The camps make it easy for seniors to get what they need close to home.
India's diplomatic missions in Canada completed annual life certificate camps in November 2025 to help Indian pensioners confirm their status for continued pension receipt.
Camps were held at various locations, including gurdwaras and community centers in major cities like Vancouver, Surrey, Prince George, and Brampton.
Protests by pro-Khalistan groups occurred at some locations, but there were no disruptions to the services this year, unlike the violent incident last year in Brampton.
Police presence was maintained at several venues due to last year's violence at the Hindu Sabha Mandir in Brampton, which led to arrests.
The camps were organized at 25 venues across 7 provinces, with video calls assisting pensioners unable to travel.
