Vedanta Q1: Net Profit Soars 72% to Rs 5,473 Crore
Vedanta Ltd is a big Indian company that makes money from mining and other businesses.
In the first quarter of its 2027 financial year, it earned a lot more money than it did in the same period last year – about 72% more.
The profit went up from 3,185 crore rupees to 5,473 crore rupees.
The company said its ongoing businesses did well, but it also said that comparing profits with parts of the company that were split off (a demerger) isn’t fair.
So, while the company is doing better overall, it’s careful about how it looks at the parts that were separated.
Vedanta Ltd's consolidated net profit rose 71.8% YoY to Rs 5,473 crore in Q1 FY27.
Profit increased from Rs 3,185 crore in the same quarter of FY26.
The company reported strong growth in its continuing operations.
Comparisons with discontinued businesses are not like‑for‑like due to a demerger of four verticals.
The demerger involved four business verticals, affecting financial comparisons.
