Oreo to launch zero-sugar cookies in US
Oreo is coming out with new cookies that have no sugar in the US.
They will be called Oreo Zero Sugar and Oreo Double Stuf Zero Sugar.
These cookies are already sold in Europe and China.
The company made them because more people want snacks that are a bit healthier but still taste good.
The new cookies use special ingredients to make them sweet without sugar.
They spent four years making the recipe just right.
Other companies like Hershey also sell sugar-free versions of their cookies.
Oreo Zero Sugar and Oreo Double Stuf Zero Sugar will launch in US stores in January 2024.
These sugar-free variants are already available in Europe and China.
The launch responds to growing consumer demand for healthier, portion-controlled snacks.
The new cookies use a blend of maltitol, polydextrose, sucralose, and acesulfame potassium for sweetness.
Mondelez spent four years refining the recipe to closely match the original Oreo taste.
