India Aims to Export Semiconductors Soon
India is working hard to make its own computer chips, called semiconductors.
These chips are very important because they are used in phones, laptops, cars, and even in defense and space technology.
Right now, India has to buy most of these chips from other countries, which can be a problem if there are shortages.
To fix this, the Indian government started a big project called the India Semiconductor Mission in 2021.
They are building factories in different parts of India to make these chips.
The government says that soon, India will not only make enough chips for itself but will also start selling them to other countries.
This is a big deal because it will make India stronger in technology and help the economy grow.
India aims to become self-reliant in semiconductor manufacturing and start exporting semiconductors soon.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced the country's entry into the semiconductor industry at the 'Abhyudaya Madhya Pradesh Growth Summit'.
India's forex reserves have risen to USD 702.96 billion, marking the third consecutive weekly increase.
The India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) was launched in 2021 with a 76,000 crore package to focus on chip fabrication, display manufacturing, and semiconductor design.
Key projects include semiconductor fabs and packaging units in Gujarat, Assam, and Tamil Nadu, involving both global and domestic players.
