Meta Unveils 8K Sports, 5K VR Glasses and AI Wearables

Meta introduced new glasses and virtual-reality devices at its Connect 2026 event.

Its new VR glasses have a very sharp 5K screen and weigh about 100 grams.

They can show virtual screens while still letting users see the real world.

Meta wants people to watch some movies and sports in a more immersive way.

It plans to show sports in 8K and 180 degrees, with more than 100 events each year after launch.

New Ray-Ban Meta glasses can record 3K video and last up to nine hours.

Meta's Muse AI will let users talk with the glasses and ask them about things seen through the camera.

Some glasses will also offer hearing enhancement for certain adults in the United States.

The new products are aimed at combining entertainment, artificial intelligence and everyday assistance in wearable devices.
