The state police had registered a total of 16 cases against Banerjee, with interim protection earlier granted in 13 of them.
Das said he filed 17 complaints against Banerjee, leading to FIRs in 10 to 12 cases, and claimed he was attacked three to four times, including in December 2018.
The Supreme Court permitted Banerjee to travel abroad for three weeks for medical treatment of his eye, and Das claimed his CISF security was removed after he filed a petition at the Calcutta High Court.
