Concept Medical Launches Global Trial on Next-Gen Stent
Concept Medical Inc.
has started a big test called STARS DAPT to see if a new kind of stent (Abluminus np) can help people who had a heart attack.
This stent is special because it doesn't have a polymer coating, which might help the heart heal better.
The test will look at whether patients can take fewer blood-thinning medicines for a shorter time without having more heart problems or bleeding.
The first patients were enrolled in Switzerland, and the test will include 350 people from different places.
The results could help doctors take better care of heart attack patients in the future.
Concept Medical Inc. launched the STARS DAPT trial to evaluate the Abluminus np stent and antiplatelet therapy strategies in STEMI patients.
The trial compares a shorter dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) regimen with conventional DAPT over 12 months.
First patients were enrolled at the University Hospital of Zurich, with a total of 350 patients planned across multiple centers.
The Abluminus np stent is polymer-free and designed for better vascular healing and reduced inflammation.
The trial aims to assess the safety and efficacy of the new stent and antiplatelet strategy in reducing bleeding risks and maintaining ischemic protection.
