Tamil Nadu to Acquire Land for Maduranthakam Global City Project
The government in Tamil Nadu is planning to build a large new city called Global City near Chennai.
They have chosen six villages to get the land for this new city.
This new city will have places for technology companies to work, areas for businesses, and homes for people.
The government wants to make it easy to travel to this new city from Chennai by building new metro lines, roads, and bus services.
This is a big new project for the state government, and they hope it will be successful, unlike some past state-led city development projects.
Tamil Nadu government is starting land acquisition for the Maduranthakam Global City project in Chengalpattu district.
Approximately 787.52 hectares of land will be acquired across six identified villages.
The Global City will include IT parks, trade zones, and residential complexes.
Connectivity to Chennai will be enhanced via metro, road, and express bus services.
This project is intended to be the first Global City developed solely by the State government.
