Fact-check: Staged iPhone Giveaway Video Mislinked to Maharashtra Tragedy
A video online appears to show someone giving teenagers new iPhones.
People claimed this happened because a family in Maharashtra died after an argument about an iPhone.
Fact-checkers found no official report of such a giveaway.
The video’s original creator did not connect it to the tragedy.
The person in the video was described as an online influencer, not a confirmed millionaire.
Police said the family had been dealing with serious problems at home for several months.
They said these problems were more important than one argument about a phone.
The boxes in the video were not confirmed to contain working iPhones.
People should check reliable reports before sharing dramatic posts.
