Bangladesh Reports 155 Child Deaths, 15,000 Missing This Year

A rights group says many children in Bangladesh have been harmed or killed this year.

It recorded 155 child deaths from January through August.

Some children disappeared and were later found dead.

Others died after abuse, family violence, rape or other attacks.

Police reports also described recent killings of children in Pabna and Jamalpur.

More than 15,000 children were reported missing from January through July.

Authorities found 13,679 of them, but 2,038 were still missing.

The figures show a serious safety problem for children across the country.
