UP Cracks Down on Illegal Immigrants

The Uttar Pradesh government is taking strong action against illegal immigrants, especially from Rohingya and Bangladesh.

The Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, has ordered the creation of detention centres in every division of the state.

These centres will hold people who are suspected of being illegal immigrants until they are verified.

The government is doing this to maintain law and order and protect national security.

They plan to deport these individuals to their home countries once the verification process is complete.

Uttar Pradesh shares an open border with Nepal, which allows free movement between the two countries, but checks are in place for other nationalities.

The government has also directed all 17 municipal bodies to compile a list of suspected Rohingya and Bangladeshi nationals working in these bodies.

Administrative staff are expediting the process of verification, listing, and investigation at the local level.
