Goa Launches Safety Initiative for Women, Children in Public Transit
Imagine a new plan to keep kids and women safe on buses, taxis, and rickshaws!
The government is putting up stickers with important phone numbers on them.
These numbers are for help if someone feels unsafe or needs to report something.
The goal is to help people know how to get help quickly and to make sure everyone feels safe while using public transport.
They also want to remind people that the police helpline number has changed to 112.
That way if anything happens, people know who to call to make it better.
The ‘Safety First’ initiative was launched by the Transport Minister in Goa.
The initiative focuses on the safety of women and children on public transport.
Awareness posters and helpline stickers are placed in Kadamba buses, taxis, and rickshaws.
Stickers display contact info for Childline, women's safety, and Goa Police (112).
The goal is to reduce incidents and make public transport safer.
