UIDAI Extends Free Aadhaar Document Update Deadline to June 2026
Imagine your Aadhaar card is like your ID card, and the government wants to make sure all the information on it is correct.
They're letting you update it online for free!
You can change things like your address and name without paying any money until June 2026.
This helps keep your Aadhaar card up-to-date, which is important for using different services.
It's easy to do on the myAadhaar website, just upload some documents to prove who you are and where you live.
Remember, if you need to change your photo or phone number, you'll still need to go to an Aadhaar center and pay a small fee.
UIDAI has extended the free online Aadhaar document update service to June 14, 2026.
The extension allows Aadhaar holders to update Proof of Identity (PoI) and Proof of Address (PoA) online without charge.
The service was initially set to end on June 14, 2025, but has been extended to promote document accuracy.
Users can upload documents in JPEG, PNG, or PDF formats, with each file under 2 MB, via the myAadhaar portal.
Updates to mobile numbers, email addresses, biometrics, or photographs still require a paid visit to an Aadhaar center.
