BRICS Exports Reach $6 Trillion in 2024, Goyal Says
Piyush Goyal said BRICS countries sold about $6 trillion worth of goods and services abroad in 2024.
He said this was much higher than the roughly $900 billion they exported in 2003.
BRICS countries now make up about 24% of all global exports.
That means nearly one-quarter of worldwide exports come from these countries.
Goyal spoke at a large business meeting called the BRICS Business Forum.
Business representatives discussed problems that can make international trade harder.
They also discussed farming technology, services, women-led businesses and digital business.
The meeting took place before the BRICS Summit starts on Saturday.
