Jharkhand job aspirants intensify hunger strike over exam irregularities

In the Indian state of Jharkhand, many people are upset because they think the exams for government jobs were not fair.

Some people who want those jobs are protesting in the city of Ranchi, next to a big stadium called Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium.

To show how serious they are, some of the protesters have stopped eating food, which is called a hunger strike.

Five more people, including two women, just joined, so now six people are taking part.

The protesters want the government to cancel one big exam and make the hiring process fairer.

They also want a special team, or judges from outside the state, to check what went wrong.

The police have already arrested 14 people connected to the problem.

A famous activist named Sonam Wangchuk asked one of the leaders, Devendra Nath Mahto, to drink water, and he agreed.

The leader of Jharkhand, Hemant Soren, said the government is serious and will make a decision soon.

Some protesters say they want action and fairness, not just promises.
