Odisha Farmers Export Fresh Produce to Dubai

Odisha Farmers Export Fresh Produce to Dubai

Farmers from two districts in Odisha, India, sent 1,000 kg of fresh vegetables and fruits to Dubai.

This is the first time garlic and French beans from Odisha have been exported.

The produce includes baby potatoes, ivy gourd, pointed gourd, and papaya.

The Directorate of Horticulture helped make this export happen.

A project called PSFPO, supported by Palladium, APEDA, and the Gates Foundation, made it possible.

An agri-business startup called Villa Mart connected the farmers with the international market.

They had to follow special rules for exporting to Dubai, and Palladium helped them with the paperwork and certifications.

This export is a big step for Odisha's farmers to sell their produce globally.
