NCB Detains Notorious Amritsar Drug Trafficker
A man named Sandeep Singh, also known as Chatha, who is a well-known drug smuggler from Amritsar, Punjab, has been detained by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in Chandigarh.
He has been involved in many criminal cases, including drug-related ones, since 2013.
The NCB, along with the Punjab Police, caught him because he was part of a big drug network that operated across different states.
They found and seized a lot of drugs, like heroin and opium, and also froze his assets worth a lot of money.
Sandeep was connected to other criminals and had been arrested before.
The NCB decided to detain him to stop him from continuing his illegal activities.
Three other people linked to him have also been detained in different places outside Punjab.
Sandeep Singh, alias Chatha, a notorious drug trafficker from Amritsar, was detained under the PITNDPS Act by the NCB’s Chandigarh unit.
He is a listed history-sheeter with involvement in at least seven criminal cases, including three under the NDPS Act, since 2013.
The NCB, in coordination with the Punjab Police, dismantled a drug syndicate, seizing 40 kg heroin, 557 grams of opium, and other drugs.
Assets worth Rs 58.6 crore, including properties worth Rs 34.77 lakh, were frozen as part of the investigation.
Three other individuals linked to Sandeep have also been detained under the PITNDPS Act in jails outside Punjab.
