Odisha Sets Daily Penalty for Delayed Public Services

Odisha Sets Daily Penalty for Delayed Public Services

The Odisha government wants officials to provide public services on time.

These services include birth, caste, and native certificates.

If an officer delays a service, the officer may have to pay Rs 250 for every day of delay.

The total penalty cannot be more than Rs 5,000.

The government has also created an Auto-Appeal System.

This system sends delayed applications to a higher official automatically.

If that official does not decide an appeal within 30 days, it is sent to another reviewing authority.

The goal is to make government services more timely and accountable.
