Chandigarh to Intensify Vehicle Emission Checks and Air Quality Efforts
Chandigarh is working to clean up its air!
They're doing this by checking car emissions and trying out new ways to stop dust.
The government is also pushing to use money set aside for clean air projects.
They'll be cleaning roads, planting trees, and making sure people follow the rules about things like firecrackers.
Everyone involved will also be promoting awareness on the matter, so residents understand how they contribute to cleaner air.
This is all part of a bigger plan to make the city's air better, especially before the winter season.
Joint teams will begin vehicle emission checks in Chandigarh.
A pilot project for dust control will be launched on a dust-prone corridor.
The Air Quality Monitoring Committee (AQMC) is overseeing these efforts.
NCAP funds for 2024-25 must be fully utilized by September 30, 2025.
A citywide awareness campaign will be implemented.
