US Invests in Pakistan's Reko Diq Mine
The US is investing a lot of money, about $2 billion, to help mine copper and gold in a place called Reko Diq in Pakistan.
This mine is very big and has a lot of these metals.
The US bank is giving $1.25 billion to help with this project.
It's expected to create many jobs in both the US and Pakistan.
The mine is owned by a Canadian company and the governments of Pakistan and Balochistan.
Some people in Balochistan are not happy because they feel they don't benefit from these projects, and there have been conflicts in the past.
The US says this project will help both countries and create jobs, but some locals are worried it will only benefit foreign companies and the Pakistani government.
The US will invest up to $2 billion in the Reko Diq copper and gold mine in Balochistan, Pakistan.
The US Export-Import Bank approved $1.25 billion in funding for the project.
The mine is expected to generate $74 billion in revenue over 37 years and create 6,000 jobs in the US and 7,500 in Pakistan.
Barrick Gold owns 50% of the mine, with the Pakistani and Balochistan governments owning the remaining 50%.
Some people in Balochistan oppose the project, citing historical exploitation and lack of local benefits.
