Culture Ministry Signs MoUs to Conserve Indian Manuscript Heritage
The Indian government is working to protect and share old manuscripts, like ancient books.
The Culture Ministry recently signed agreements with 17 different organizations to help with this.
This is part of a plan called Gyan Bharatam, which aims to preserve knowledge.
They want to make sure these old writings are saved and also made available for everyone to see.
The minister said this is a step toward making India culturally rich.
A conference was also held to discuss these plans.
Digitization work is underway, and funding is being arranged to support it.
The goal is to make these treasures available for the future, building on the past.
The Culture Ministry signed MoUs with 17 institutions to expand the Gyan Bharatam Mission.
The agreements aim to conserve and digitize India's manuscript heritage.
The event took place at the National Gallery of Modern Art in Delhi.
Union Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat was present at the ceremony.
The mission follows a global conference on India's manuscripts held in September.
