FDA Inspects HC Canteens, BBA Voluntarily Shuts Down
The Bombay High Court has a canteen that lawyers use.
The food safety agency, called the FDA, checked the canteen and found that two of the three canteens did not have the required licence.
The FDA sent notices to stop business at those two canteens.
The Bombay Bar Association said it shut its canteen before the FDA arrived, claiming it was a voluntary decision.
The court asked the FDA to check all government canteens and show video evidence.
The third canteen, which had a licence, got a notice to improve.
Other public canteens were also inspected and shut for safety violations.
The whole thing is about making sure food is safe for everyone.
FDA inspected three canteens at Bombay High Court, found no FSSAI licences for two, and issued stop‑business notices.
Bombay Bar Association voluntarily suspended its canteen services before FDA arrival, claiming no adverse order.
High Court directed FDA to inspect all government and semi‑government canteens and submit video recordings.
The third canteen, which had a licence, received an improvement notice.
Other public institution canteens were also inspected and shut for food safety violations.
