Delhi Court Denies Transfer of Adani Gag Order Appeals
A Delhi court decided against moving the case filed by a journalist and Newslaundry against a gag order.
The gag order originally prevented them from reporting on the Adani Group.
The journalist and news outlet wanted the case moved to a different judge who previously overturned the same gag order for other journalists.
The judge stated that extensive arguments had already been heard.
The case will continue before the original judge, and the next hearing is scheduled for Wednesday.
The court rejected a request to transfer appeals by Paranjoy Guha Thakurta and Newslaundry.
The appeals concern a gag order restricting reporting on the Adani Group.
The case was heard by Judge Gurvinder Pal Singh.
Petitioners wanted the case transferred to a judge who previously quashed the gag order for other journalists.
The court directed the appeals to return to Judge Sunil Chaudhary.
