Telangana Urges Unified National Framework for Water Security

Telangana asked the national government and all states to work together on water security.

It said water is important for drinking, farming, villages, cities and nature.

Telangana believes water conservation should be treated as a public mission.

It proposed putting every water project into one larger plan.

Each project should have an identity, a responsible agency and a clear result to measure.

The state warned that projects funded by many different programmes can become poorly coordinated.

This may lead to duplicated work, unsuitable locations and weak maintenance.

Telangana said it is willing to share its experience in restoring tanks, involving communities and removing silt from reservoirs.
