Seven More Arrested in Bollaram Army Arms Theft Case

Seven More Arrested in Bollaram Army Arms Theft Case

Police in Malkajgiri arrested seven more people over weapons stolen at the Bollaram army facility.

This brings the number of people arrested in the case to eight.

The first person arrested was an army havildar named U Mallesh.

The newly arrested group includes army personnel, people known to Mallesh, and two arms dealers.

Police Commissioner B Sumathi said they had not found links to terrorism or extremism.

Police said Mallesh had bought a country-made gun and a bullet in 2022.

He hid them at his family’s home and, police said, did not use them in any crime.

Investigators also said Mallesh had a history of burglary cases.
