Congress Govt Unknowingly Admits Kaleshwaram Success, Says Harish Rao
A former minister named Harish Rao says that the current government is admitting that a big water project called Kaleshwaram is actually working well.
He said this because the new government is thinking about using one of Kaleshwaram's water gates, called Sundilla, for a different water plan.
Harish Rao believes they should fix the old Kaleshwaram project instead of spending a lot of money on a new one.
He thinks Kaleshwaram can already move enough water if its parts are strengthened.
Former minister T. Harish Rao claims the Congress government has indirectly admitted the success of the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme (KLIS).
He bases his claim on the government's announcement to use the Sundilla barrage, a part of KLIS, for the Pranahita– Chevella project.
Harish Rao stated that using Sundilla to store water from the Pranahita river confirms KLIS is functional and beneficial.
He criticized the government for proposing to spend `25,000 crore on a new project.
Harish Rao suggested strengthening existing KLIS barrages like Medigadda to lift 80 TMC ft of water, saving significant costs.
