Nepal Rains Deepen Bihar Flood Crisis as Probe Demanded

Heavy rain in Nepal sent more water into Bihar’s Gandak River.

This raised the water level near the Valmikinagar barrage.

Officials said the amount of water was still lower than in 2024.

An embankment also broke near Khairtawa village in West Champaran.

Floodwater entered farmland, homes and some low-lying areas.

Roads were disrupted in parts of the district.

Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary said teams were watching the situation and repairing weak points.

MP Pappu Yadav wants an investigation, more relief and compensation for affected families.
