Delhi Warns Departments on Budget Spending
The Delhi Chief Secretary has warned all government departments to spend all the money given to them in the revised budget for the year 2025-26.
He said that if any department does not spend all the money, they will be in trouble.
The Chief Secretary had a meeting with senior officials and found that some important departments like Health, Public Works, and Transport are spending money too slowly.
He told them to spend faster and check the spending every week.
The government has increased the money for building roads, schools, and hospitals but has reduced the money for other schemes.
So far, only about 41% of the total budget has been spent, and less than 30% of the money for big projects has been used.
Meanwhile, the AAP and Congress have criticized the reduced budget allocation for Chandigarh, warning that it will impact civic services and infrastructure.
