India's First Subscription TV Service, DOR TV, Shuts Down
Imagine a TV service that tried to be all-in-one, like Netflix, cable, and video games rolled into one big package.
That was DOR TV, the first of its kind in India.
It offered everything through a single monthly payment and came with a special TV.
But, it closed down in May 2025, because it couldn't keep going.
Now, the app and services are gone, but the TVs themselves still work like regular TVs.
The company hasn't said exactly why it shut down.
DOR TV, India's first subscription-only TV service, has shut down.
Streambox Media Private Limited, the company behind DOR TV, ceased operations in May 2025.
The DOR subscription service and DOR TV app are no longer available.
DOR launched in November 2024 and went live on December 1, 2024.
The service bundled a 4K QLED smart TV with a unified subscription offering SVOD, AVOD, live TV, gaming, and news.
