US Immigrant Population Plunges Amidst Stricter Policies
A new study says that the number of people who came to the US from other countries went down by more than a million people after Trump's second term as president started.
The study, done by the Pew Research Center, showed that in January, there were a lot of immigrants here, about 53.3 million.
But by June, that number had dropped to 51.9 million.
This happened because the government, during Trump's second term, made it harder for people to come to the US and stay.
They saw illegal immigration as a problem and made strict rules to deal with it.
US immigrant population decreased by 1.4 million after Trump's second term began.
